Wow, that is an amazing feat! I currently have 320,000 miles on my 1996 ES 300. I changed my radiator and waterpump once. I still have the orginal gas tank and transmission. Hopefully I can take her to at least 500,000 miles and that point I think I'll upgrade to the new ES...

Quick Math...
1,000,000 miles at lets say 20 miles per gallon highway, thats 50,000 gallons of gas. He got it in 1991, so 17 years later, so 50,000 gallons for 17 years, thats about 2,942 gallons a year. The average price for gas lets say is roughly $1.50 for the last 17 years? That would be $4413 a year on gas alone. $1.50 for 50,000 gallons is $75,000 spent on gas over the last 17 years, on a truck that might have cost 15-20 grand tops when he got it. Wow, gas is expensive, even at $1.50 a gallon...
