Only 25++% tax to own most of those in Canada.

Actually...it's 13% tax. PDI tends to hover around $1200-$2000. But, the MSRP for base models tend to be much higher than U.S. equivalents. Upgrades cost a whole lot more and the upgrades tend to come in large packages (e.g. Lexus Ultra premium for 8k+).
