the drifting competition is part of fifth gear. thats one of their tests. lol. just the nature of the show.
they are trying to be more like top gear, with more stupid funny remarks between jasion and tiff. its not the drifting that makes people watch (okay well maybe) but its the banter

I've always wanted to stick the turbo engine in the Cayman (although it'd likely need a vastly improved cooling system). It would obviously outperform the Turbo, and would probably be up there with the CGT.

Glad i'm not the first to bring it up but they did test a base cayman vs. 135. Do the Brits get the S trim? If they do than someone really screwed up by not using it for the test. 290 hp and 245hp is a big difference.

We do get the S. The reason it wasn't used is because the difference in price between the 135i and the Cayman 2.7 is £6k ($11k ish). So, reasonably, someone shopping in that price range would look at each one as competitors - especially when you add a few upgrades to the BMW. To use the Cayman S would have pushed the price differential to £14k ($26k ish), and beyond any meaningfull comparison.
