cayman isnt a good performance value in the first place, im not paying 60k for 291 hp and 251 torque. 1:27.9 vs 1:26.1, decent victory. Extra power definately helped

You are right I wouldn't either but there are those willing to pay, they probably like the nameplate and handling aspect of the Cayman versus the power output.

have you built one?....$5000 over what they initially estimated.

even with the motor, the 135i isn't even in the same class

Based on your theory, how would you explain the 340hp Audi S5 being defeated by a 300hp BMW 335 on the track (see 5th gear vid on this)?? Me thinks it has a lot more to do with the overall package.

3900 lbs vs 3571 lbs

I also noticed they didnt use the Cayman S. In that case the normal Cayman is 245 hp 201 trq @ 2954 lbs vs 135 300 hp 300 trq @ 3300-3400 lbs.

1 lap in each car with different drivers who are driving while making jokes is far from a scientific test. The Cayman is underpowered but I would much rather own a Cayman than a 1-series

If I recall correctly, the Cayman was detuned a lot so it wouldn't steal sales from the Carrera.
