Is AMG going to put the 6.2L in the SLK?

My friend was asking me about this today because he said that the 2009 SLK AMG will still be the NA 5.4L. So, is the 6.2L coming out or not? I searched "SLK 63" on google but everything about a new release is years old; the only current mention is in the '09 reviews, like edmunds, where they claim the 6.2L is too physically difficult and not financially sensible. My friend is obsessed with tiny roadsters with big engines, I told him just to go to Kleemann or something........

I dont think they would do it, its too big of an engine and would probably outrun the sl63 if it was done, they do have the black series slk which is there version of a an extreme amg........I remeber a guy in dubai put the slr engine in an slk and in order to fit it he had to cut the hood and do alot of modifications in the engine bay

Yeah, I saw the vids of the SLR engine in the SLK. That was pretty impressive.
The 6.2L in the SLK would work IMO, they'd just have to detune it as always.
My friend's main complaint with the initial SLK55 was that it was mated to a 7-speed transmission, but hardly took advantage of it because the engine is tuned to a wide rather than narrow powerband.
