very nice post, I've always wondered where they're all made. So basically the RX is the only one that is made inside and outside of Japan?

well , all the models are made in japan, just some are made in canda, still a decent car though. I don't want to sound stupid, but how can they have a factory just for the lx if it's a car that isn't really produced in mass numbers such as the es?, do they make the lc there too?

they have designed the assembly lines in such a way that different models can be produced on the same line with little changeover or conversion needed. One of the biggest advantages resulting from the Toyota Production System philosophy

It's not unusual, most manufacturers run completely different models down the same production lines. Jaguars and Land Rovers run down the same production lines for example. The LX will be made on the same line as the Land Cruiser as they are essentially the same vehicle.

RX is built in Ontario?!?! And I thought all the Lexus cars are built in North America until now. Dad was somewhat hesitant about me getting an A4 because according to him Audi doesn't have factories in North America and obviously maintenance (like shipping of parts) will be a pain in the ***. I guess he just made up a lie so I wouldn't get an Audi. And I'm glad I didn't. The ride in A4 was literally a pain in the ***. So rough and stiff. Not the right car for me.

Why? Every Lexus is built with Toyota's craftmanship, which is one of (if not still) the best automotive manufacturers out there.

yes...but i didnt pay 50K for a car with toyota badges stuck everywhere. i mean i remember when my 1999 RX300 had the toyota labels everywhere, even on the window panes. thank god they changed them to lexus now.

and yes, i know that toyota makes lexus, and that toyota is a great brand to begin with. but im saying it takes away from the prestige of lexus when there are toyota badges

I'm glad to see that more Lexus specialization is continuing in their production processes.

Fair. I'm not fussed by the badging (but then again I own a grey import since Lexus Australia was too tight **** to bring in some models into the country).
