I wonder if the blizzard of S-Class tv ads is also taking a toll on the LS.

Well it seems S sales are steady, they haven't risen. 7 sales have jumped due to attractive leases.

It would be seriously heavy though, wouldn't it? Not as bad as the LS600hL though. The GS450h is already 4134lbs / 1875kg.

GS350AWD is 170lbs more than GS350 so maybe a GS450h would be around 4400lbs.

Check this out Paul.
IS 300 weighed 3300lbs
Our GS 400 weighed 3700lbs
IS 350 weighs 3500lbs
3GS 430 weighs 3750lbs

Now
IS-F weighs 3700lbs
GS 450h weighs 4150 lbs (amazingly on par with V-8 competition)
GS 460 4000 lbs!!!

So any possible GS-F is 4150 lbs easy

Lexus vehicles used to be lightest or near lightest in class. They have gotten tons heavier in recent years.

I don't think the original LS engineer Mr. Suzuki would have allowed a 5000 lbs LS 600h L. He was hell bent on making a lightweight LS b/c he knew it effected fuel economy tons.

I fail to comprehend why the GS460 is THAT heavy.......Does the 4.6 weigh that much more than the 4.3?

You and me both. The tranny is lighter but clearly the engine weighs more, which is an ODD trend as usually newer engines are also lighter.

What the new leather?

Pretty **** poor weight control on Lexus part, IMO.

so?

GS450h AWD would bring same extra weight as does GS350 AWD to RWD.

Which means GS450h AWD would be faster and more frugal than GS350 AWD which I drive currently.

I would hit it.

edit: of course, I would get it with **** this time.

Road and track (November2007 issue) had a similar pic(in grey) of the GS-F, in their Future Shock section. Suppose to be introduced as a 2011 model, if approved
