Worst depreciation per NADA guide line (import)
For one year old car. Jaguar is the worst with 25% value lost after one year.
Notice that they evaluate import only, probably because most Ford/GM/Chrysler lose 50% the moment driven off dealer lot, so no point tracking them.
3 out of 10 are Audi, pretty predictable huh.

Sad to see the LS up there. Wonder how much less the S-Class and the 7-Class depreciate. BTW here the link:

And shouldn't this be in Car Chat?

I'm not surprised the LS is on there.
As much as I like the LS it's obvious to me they cut costs on it, particularly on the exterior which has so little trim details. Maybe that was a design as well as cost goal, but I think the LS, while a wonderful car, loses quite a bit of its 'impact' unless it's shiny new.
An S-class, to me at least, retains more impact as it ages.

im not sure that the domestic depreciation is as bad as you think in the first year. trucks keep their value fairly well, especially here in TX. I think that what really happens is that they have higher depreciation over all the years, not just the first.
still not too suprised that the LS is on there, they are a niche market. Any suprised that there are no Mazda units on the list?

I'd like to see the numbers for the rest of the luxury segment, and over several years. For the LS, I'm wondering whether the increase in price has to do with this change, up to the $61,000-$104,000 range. Similarly perhaps because the CL-Class is higher than the S-Class...?
