taking gas out of the tank? :)
i was filling up my car the other day and i had a funny thought. once the gas are in the tank already, is there any way to take them back out? looking at the "hole", it seems like you can just stick a hose in there and pump the gas back out?
i had way too much time at the gas station...

Yes you can siphon it out.

lol, using mouth, that's kind of gross isn't it? i guess putting in a hose, and use a pump to keep on pumping on the other end until gas comes out, then siphon will just keep on drawing gas out huh?
if that's the case, it brings another question. on some cars, you can easily lift off the gas door (not like lexus where you have to open from inside the car). if that's the case, doesn't it make it easy for some people to steal gas that way?

Last year at the DUB show we had to have less then a 1/4 tank and I had JUST gassed up for the show like a dumbass. We had to go back to my place and use a hose to syphon out the gas. I was sucking and it wouldn't come out and the vapors got me SO ****ED UP that when I was driving back to the show I was TRIPPING OUT

Haha I didn't even finish the story. So after FIVE MINTUES of sucking gas fumes I couldn't even stand up straight. I dunno if it was the odd location of the gas tank (this was my Jeep) but I just COULD NOT get the gas out. So we drove to the gas station and the guy there was real nice and had a pump he used to get the gas out. We were all standing around while it was pumping and he looked at me and was like "how long did you try getting the gas out" and I was like "I dunnnnnnnnooooooo like fiiiiiiiveeeee minuteeesss" and hes like "good thing you stopped and came here, 5 more minutes of that and you'd be a caveman!"

Oddly enough, at least on the second gen GS there is another ball valve at the bottom of the filler. When you feed the hose down, you need to get passed that one and hope you don't bugger it up. If it gets sticky, the next time you go to fill up you get about ten seconds worth of gas in the tank and then the pump will shut off thinking the tank is full. Unfortunate voice of experience but mine didn't stick because of trying to syphon.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't risk it. When they pulled my tank apart they found something like a sticker stuck to the ball down at the end of the filler pipe. We're guessing somebody before me had gotten this thing stuck on the nozzle and I didn't notice, just shoved it in and it came off the nozzle and stuck to that darned ball. This caused the ball to stick and all I could get in was about ten seconds worth of gas before the pump would shut off. This was not a warranty issue so I paid the repair charge.
