IS-F actually beat the C63 on the road course. I never expected the IS-F to go out and kill everything, its good enough for me, and if I wanted to spend 67k on an M3 with DCT, Id rather get a GTR. They dont include gas guzzler taxes in the comparo, can you imagine the tax on the C63s 12/19 mileage. I dont see any interior/features being compared.
1st Place
BMW M3
Speed, balance, and athleticism converge in today's best compact, high-performance sport sedan.
2nd Place
MERCEDES-BENZ C63 AMG
A solid, emotive machine that works as everyday transport-and accelerates like a first-gen Viper.
3rd Place
LEXUS IS F
Lexus's first effort in this category is a good one, lacking in only the finest of details.

Seems all 3 are spectacular and if that is the summary of the IS-F, well, I can live with that.

GREAT comparison article.
3 great cars, but in the end I think the performance difference comes down to WEIGHT and WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION.
The steering ratio is a LOT quicker on the M3 also. And I think the M3 styling also works better (less boy racer) than the other 2.
Each will have its fans but overall the M3 is an easy win for me.

I agree. Raw handling is what these cars are suppose to be about. Where they lag in straight line power, they will make up in the corners. 2nd choice goes to the C63, simply because I cannot ignore the powerplant under the hood. 3rd goes to the IS-F. If it had a bit more power, then I would choose it over the C63.

Like I said here in another thread a while back, it's cool that these cars are a lot a like but are also all very different.
The C63 is the straight line hot road, the M3 is the ultimate choice for the track or twisties, and the ISF sits somewhere between them.
Personally I'd probably be inclined to choose the IS-F because of some of the details. The Germans, IMO, have somewhat cheap and sparse interiors and I like both the design and details inside the IS-F and the quieter ride. Just my taste and of course, there are no bad choices here.

awesome comparison. i think it's done pretty fair already. seeing the is-f really hang tight to the other 2 in most of the comparisons, i think that's great news for lexus already considering it's their first attempt.
i really hope the rs4 would have been in there as well. also, it's great that they used the m3 sedan for the test
