You can always sell it and make someone else take over the payments.

It depends largely on how long you've been making payments.

We've had the car for 1 year, never been late, always had great credit until very recently. We are very upside down on it, maybe $20K. We also have another lexus (es330) that we are almost done with payments completely, and have never been late with those, and continue to make them. (Hopefully they won't go after the ES since we're not paying on the LX?)

I believe they can't take it unless they have a court order, and that usually takes a few month.
