I think the question is moot since getting a GTR may be next to impossible. IF you could get one THIS year then sure, but the car is getting incredible press and I think that is going to make the average person wait an extra year or so.
Really? They offered a cut rate deal on the left over M5s last year, are they doing that again?

Look at the GTR fans come out of the woodwork! LOL My friend bought the GTR and sold within the month, didn't take much of a loss but he said it was not one of his best decisions.LOL He now has both the M3 and M5. (already had the M5 and he test drove both cars before buying) You decide...

Weird - the money factor is still crazy high - so $1,200 would be near impossible from what I can tell. However, sometimes third party leasing firms offer incredible deals (the S6 was available for a great lease price earlier in the year through leasecompare).

It really isn't. As I've pointed out, there are rarer cars out there that aren't exactly touted for being awesome because they are rare. There are also plenty of cars out there that only sell 1500-2500 units/yr period that we aren't exactly drooling over. As I stated, there is also the issue of whether or not rarity should influence the buying decision. That's simply a nonissue for me. Obviously, some disagree.

.
Name a car that sells 1500 units a year that is not a 100k plus car that we do not drool over. Not one that has poor sales b/c it is undesirable. A highly desired car selling less than the GT-R.
1500 is rare.

Perhaps Nissan is limiting the GTR due to costs. I can't believe they make any money off this monster...for only $70k, you have a car that outguns anything under $150k. That is incredible considering this think is a 4000lb tank It seems its doing its job as a halo car (aka marketing tool) but perhaps selling too much of this car may hurt the bottom line
Just a theory and nobody really knows the margins on this car yet.

i guess the economy has something to do with it. a lot of dealerships have a lot of m/amg and they want to get rid of them. if mb is also offering pretty much the same price for e63/cls63, i can see bmw matching it
