I owned one. No two are alike. Some have gas flaps others you have to open the hood. Some the antenna is in the back some are on the front fender. They had Volvo Renault V6 engines and were rear mount, not mid. They used parts from other cars at the time. The gear **** was indicated wrong. (R) was actually next to (2nd) gear. In the owners manual it was stated "In case of roll over, kick out windshield."
The dash/gauges were not back lit either. They had small lights that light up the face. Visibility sucked airflow and AC was a joke. Working on it....HAAA HAAA!!!
The car was actually fibreglass with a stainless steel skin. SS can not be reformed if it is dented. So since the body panels are very hard to find, people have to paint them after an accident. As in pic above. SS dosent rust, but it does oxidize, and can be a pain to clean. I had "rattle-cans" of the same cleaner McDonalds uses for their counters.
I have pics of mine, but it was so long ago I'd have to scan them to post.
That 88mph tire show from the movie. Total BS. That thing couldnt get out of its own way. Something like 0-60 in 11sec with the 5spd. fastest I ever got mine up to was 100 and who knew how accurate that was?
