I don't get it we've actually had a 4 Cylinder C-Class before in W202. If you guys remember the C230 Kompressor, 2.3L I4 Supercharged.

I don't know. The 4-banger C-Class was selling well but it had always been the laughing stock in the eyes of the car ethusiasts in the US. It's an image versus profit thing for MB as a tier-1 premium car brand. They may indeed have strong enough an image to afford trading some of it for good profit though.
