iono... what he was thinking impersonating a police officer but F that... i hope he goes to jail... got retarts out there preying on women and getting away with it... luckily he was stopped before something really coulda happened
In Jersey, I don't think we have any foreign marked police cars as there was a big flap a few years ago when the State police tried out some Volvos. I saw one trooper in an unmarked crown vic with a for sale sign in the window to try to throw you off.
Isn't that kind of a sign? Does that strike no-one as wierd. We feel a tendency that the posted speed is too slow. 65 by todays standards is fairly slow. Bump it up to 80, heck even 90. Some people just feel more comfortable going at those higher speeds. However if they did that, cops wouldn't generate as much revenue in tickets now would they
Actually i believe there are many articles on this stating that if it were increased people would continue to speed well beyond what is posted. Also you need to see the bigger picture with increased speed limits...such as higher fatalities, more accidents, ect. well in highly populated areas. Just because you might be a good driver doesn't mean other people are. There are many people who shouldn't be driving on public roads, I do not think allowing them to go faster would be a wise choice.
The police in my area only use Crown Vics, but when I see an unmarked Crown Vic I check its' license plate: if it's a CA Exempt, then I become a mellow driver. When I lived in Nevada, I also looked for the NV Exempt plates- they either say "EX" or "Exempt" on the side or top.
believe it or not, i've seen a real Honda accord cop car here in ca. it seem to be an undercover car. it had all the lights but inside the car. i was turning into a street and i notice the Accord along with 2 other regular cop cars surrounding another vehicle.
The cops here have a 1st gen Pilot undercover car.
And the Concord PD has a few Honda ST1300s in their repertoire besides BMWs.
Grubbs told ABC-15 News he didn’t pull over Bishop, but he chased him down because he was going 65 mph in a 45 mph zone. Grubbs said his vehicle is a Honda Accord he bought in Florida. He also said he had been in law enforcement at one time.
Regardless of whether Grubbs was impersonating an officer or not, the larger issue here is being overlooked. Bishop, who IS a legitimate officer, needs to explain WHY he was doing 65 in a 45 MPH zone, especially if this was not an emergency he was responding to. In many states (and mine is one of them) driving 20 MPH or more over the posted speed limit is considered reckless driving.
Some states also allow non-law-enforcement people, under some circumstances, to make what is called a "citizen's arrest"...I don't know if that was the case in that state or not.
with gov't in short money, is nothing new that cops/highway patrol turn confiscated vehiles into a patrol car. Save them a bunch of money on buying new one. When they're done w/ it...auction it off.
