I dont like the rims at all, in fact I think they are hideously ugly. But your arguments are pretty far off base.
You do realize stock SC rims are like 15s and 16s right? Choosing the correct wheelsize can make a big impact on handling and its characteristics.
I understand the spirit of your argument, and I do agree with that. But its sheer ignorance to assume that an OEM size/setup is tailored to a specific enthusiast's needs. The OP wanted to go for the bling look and felt the need to sacrifice handling, ride, and economy.
If you think an OEM SC wheel setup will handle as well as my car does... well I'm from Nigeria and I've got a Supra to sell you.

No one is saying that OEM spec'ed wheels are tailord for the enthusiast's needs, if anything they are tailored for the vehicle they are on....example a Porsche GT will have wheels tailord for the car's needs, do you think the op's G is tailored for 22's ???
Bottom line those rims are way to big for that vehicle.....it has NO bling factor and has nothing else going for it....
You should help the op sell the wheels from your location in Nigeria and get something more pleasant to ones eyes.....

22x7.5? That's pretty weak sauce on the G!
Now, a custom set of 22x9 and 22x10.5 could look pretty good.
My other issue with 22" set-ups like this is you guys never lower the car.
The old excuse "I don't want to ruin the ride" or "we have potholes here"
is right out the window... you put 22s on, man!
Here is a quick 'chop of the car at a more suitable ride height:
