I wouldn't go as far as measuring the thickness of the paint because it's useless to me, but that's an awesome job.
And yes...using a foam gun is definitely fun. I use it when i have very very bad dirt buildup.

Yep. I've seen it in action and as you can see, the suds do a great job of clinging to the car and dirt.
My car never gets dirty enough to go to this extreme though.
