Damn that sucks.
Sounds like you would have been better off saying that you ran into the tree and the branch fell on your car.

The same thing happened to my 2nd Gen at my office. Of course my employer said that they weren't responsible and that I should contact my auto insurer. The roof between the sunroof and rear window was bashed in. I'm not sure how I avoided any broken glass. My Allstate insurance covered the $3000 repair including the rental car for 2 weeks under the comprehensive portion of the policy. My body shop had to cut the roof panel off between the side suports. I was very suprised that they repaired it good as new. No leaks, squeeks or rattles. I drove it for another year and a half before trading it. YMMV.

I'm confused when you said that your insurance wouldn't cover an act of God. Did you not have comprehensive coverage?

roofline is creased right down the dang middle, but not easy to get a pic of a white crease under a flash.

is it the tree from your house? Then your HO policy will not cover it since you can't sue yourself. Go with your Comp coverage, you will have to pay deductible.

Vandalism for sure. That tree jumped out at your car, it's as clear as day in your pictures. You're lucky it couldn't run off and hide...
