2009 Acura TL thread (merged threads, painted beak)

Because many people who modify cars (At least myself) don't really care what it looks like stock, but what it Can look like once modified. If the car looks blah stock, but hot when modified its on my list. If a car looks blah stock, and blah modified, its off my list. If a car looks hot stock, and hot modified, its obviously on my list as well But seriously, I have choosen so many cars specifically on is mod potential and I have also passed on many great cars specifically because I couldn't easily add an aftermarket audio system into the dash. Just like my SC400. I thought the car in stock form was rather bland, but I've seen and have friends with really nice modified ones, so I bought one with the hopes of modifying it. Not keeping it stock.

Might want to check this...
That is not the new TL. This is...

Sadly, I wish it was the one you showed. The new TL has copied the Maxima's profile, has too much roof showing above the side windows, a robo-armadillo shield for a grille, a droopy rear hiney that makes it look weak and feminine (a la Infiniti J30), and the double lights on the front bumper look like the Family Truckster of Lampoons Vacation. I also believe fender flares belong on Model T's and trucks, not on the TL and Mazda sports cars.
A HUGE thumbs down here. Acura is completely lost and has been for a few years now. This car is total fru-fru gimicks and completely removed from the current successful TL.

The shield grill is a
And did you see the front fender buldge?

Sadly, it's an official Acura image. You are looking at the final car. And you are right, they are trying too hard to be different. GM suffers from the same ailment. One thing I love so much about the IS is the basic shape is pretty mainstream, while the details and trim are stylized in a sportier way. That is a good and safe way to play the sport sedan game.

Anyways, I hope the TL '09 interior isn't so bad though.
