I saw this on another forum....
I saw a video of the chief TL engineer last night and he pretty much told everything about the car but i guess the video wasn't suppose to be leaked out so early so it was deleted very quickly.
Base TL: 280 hp, 254 lb-ft torque, 18/26 mpg and SH-AWD: 305 hp, 275 lb-ft torque, 17/24 mpg....no touchscreen nav just a **** like in the MDX, has radar in its weather forecast system, 400 watt 10 speaker ELS sound system, electric power steering, LED tail lights, and also the TL does look a lot better in the video then the pics. Also, the interviewer from KBB mentioned how the SH-AWD handled very well and that the engine has kick to it...so hopefully thats a good sign.
Base TL: 34K add 2K for tech pack.
SH-AWD 39K plus 2K for tech pack.

That snap shot from the video seems to be button filled. Though my hands my stain a touch screen I think that is the way to go. Too much buttons will cause too much mistakes while driving if you ask me.

Official Pics
SANTA MONICA, California — Images and specifications of the 2009 Acura TL made their way onto the Web today, ahead of Acura's planned debut for next week. Acura had previously released only a front view and preliminary information for the all-new fourth-generation TL.
The 2009 TL will be offered in two versions: front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. This is the first time Honda's Super-Handling all-wheel drive will be available on the midsize sedan. The front-wheel-drive version gets a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter SOHC V6 engine, and the TL SH-AWD will use a 305-hp 3.7-liter SOHC V6. Both engines are mated to a sequential sportshift five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The 2009 TL also gets a completely revamped interior when it goes on sale this fall.

Wow...that is definitely different from the past TLs and takes Acura's new look in a more extreme direction.
Not sure what to make of it...the first pic looks nice but in virtually each photo shown, there's some element that makes me feel that it is a bit 'off' -- the added dash arc, headrest shapes, etc. Maybe it takes getting used to...

Everytime I look at the front I think, "Polly want a cracker?"
Seriously though...5AT? Its like we have been waiting release after release for a new transmission. At this point, even a six speed would be fine. In a world of seven and eight speed transmissions, Acura's 5AT in a brand new 2009MY car just seems like a joke.

6 speed gets better mileage.
when the ES moved from 5 to 6 speed, mileage went up. not by much though.
if we don't need a 6 speed, or 5 speed.... how bout we all go back to 4 speed V6?

this pic is alright.
at this angle, here the infiniti FX-like ugliness shows
giant parrot: like someone else said- polly wanna cracka.
the sides look like the old maxima. and the back end looks way too busy, like Darth Vader's helmet:
holy crap. is that real aluminum?:
clean gauges.
good rear visibility. headrests go all the way down:
if it weren't for the ugly styling, it would have the lexus ES beat down.
paddle shifters and awd.
i wish my car had paddle shifters
