A couple of weeks ago the auto writer in the Chicago Tribune reviewed the new TL. One of the Cons in the Pros & Cons section, was "styling from the "oops" school of design". I'll reserve judgement until I see one in person, but thought his comment was funny.

I recently got rid of my 2nd gen TL. I miss it, but not as much now that I'm driving the GS!

4th gen TL - one word: ugly! Even 3rd gen TL is better looking. I would pick a 2nd gen or 3rd gen TL over the new TL any day. And this is coming from a former TL owner!

The new TL reminds me of the old sunfires and cavaliers. Both the front and back look the same.

The revised grill looks like they're painted in the body color. That's fine for black and other very dark colors, but for white, silver, and other light colors it still looks rediculous. Unless of course they go with black grills on every color.

I think that it is a very well-matched combination... Ugly wheels for an ugly car.

It's too bad because I want to like this car (especially when it gets the 6MT upgrade)... the "beaked out" version is not doing it for me so far.

Interesting that the one with the blacked-out grill looks a lot like the Camry.

This further proves that the new TL looks like a big mix of different styling cues from competitors, combined with bad styling cues from Acura.

Also no matter what you do with the grill, it still doesn't change that hideous front end, which is by design. There is nothing you can do except hope that the next-gen TL will look better.

I like the mod. I am sure acura will make a change in the future. I will admit I went to a local dealership to check it out, and it is a solid looking car in person. at least the loaded black ones are. lol

I was driving behind (and eventually beside and in front of) a new TL this evening; until you have been near one on the road, you can't even imagine how ridiculous they look. The rear is just so screwy, & then there's everything else ...
