The Accord is roomier than the RL. Why wouldn't the TL be roomier?

Where are you getting this information from?

Sounds good, 310hp with 200 more lbs might mean the same acceleration times but I am sure its going to drive/handle real well. I hope they don't adapt the new TSX steering.
Overall once its not TOO ugly, should continue to sell and do well for ACura.

Are you getting the new accord, new RL and the new TL confused? We're not talking about current models, here, we're talking about the up-coming RL and TL.

Acura's flagship luxury sedan is going to be smaller than the sportier TL???
Gosh, I certainly hope you don't believe that!

I don't have anything confused. I'm talking about the 2009 TL vs. the 2009 RL. The current RL will live on for 2 years in the 2009 TL's "shadow". And during those 2 years, why would anyone get an RL over a TL AWD?

Too little is known about the next "RL" to speculate anything about it.

I'm afraid I don't follow you. Are you saying that the new TL will go on sale 2 years before the new RL? I think it's the other way around. It is my understanding that Acura will introduce the new RL long before the new TL. The new RL is just about ready for production. We've all seen photos of the actual production car. The new TL is still just a drawing on paper or spy shots, at least from what we've seen. Nobody's seen the actual car. It is nowhere near ready for production.

According to Acura, the new 2009 TL is scheduled to come out in the fall of this year. There is no solid date yet on when the new RL is coming out, its just speculating. This was posted earlier on this thread.

The RL you think you've been seeing as the new RL is a refresh. A major refresh but essentially the same car.. but uglier.

LOL! Yea, I read the thread, but honestly, I thought the RL was all new because the refresh was so drastic. Still, does anybody believe the New TL will be bigger than this? I know the TL will be built on the Accord platform but even in its current state, it's built on a "shortened" Accord platform. (Last gen)

The 08+ Accord is just slightly bigger than the current RL. It's longer by less than an inch, the exact same width, and taller.

You can expect the 09 TL to adhere to those same dimensions more or less.

So yes I'd expect the TL to be slightly bigger than the RL (in reality they'll pretty much appear to be the same size side by side).

I doubt it gets that big, then the TL will be bigger than most mid-size luxury sedans and its already big like for its class.

TSX is 184 inches long, which is big for its class, TL should be around 190-192 inches....RL will grow next time, surely it will be ugly as Acura can't design anything.

Possibly their way to move up a segment for each car.

Amazing that HYUNDAI has a 3.7 V-6 that makes 310hp, the same as luxury brand Acura. lol

This car should be super hot! Love the addition of 19' rims and SH-AWD! Best FWD sedan on the market gets even better.

honestly, that rear end is beginning to look more and more like that of the 2008 Accord Coupe, with a crease in the middle. Not good if they intend to differentiate between Acura and Honda brands. I guess they think the new grill is all that is needed.
