I have received rims/tire via fedex before at roughly 125-150 for 4. Some of my friends have gotten better prices using DHL and I would recommend weighing your rims/tires on a bathroom scale, and contacting DHL/UPS/Fedex/USPS with the weight and size (ship 2 together rather then 4 so you don't get charged with over sized package fees)

i dont think USPS will do it bro...they have a weight limit...i shipped stock 16" GS wheels to chicago from san diego and it was a grip through FedEx...but i went through postal annex which is a second party...might be cheaper to go to Fedex direct or UPS direct
and take out the air in the tires!

don't forget to take the air out of the tires so that the weight is lessened. I shipped UPS for about 125 x 4 tires to Missouri. Didn't even have to box them up. Wrapped them in plastic wrap from our parts department.

dudes got a point, lots of people never even think of greyhound... but if you're not comfortable with that, id go fedex...the past few times we've had to ship wheels they were cheaper then ups from ca to ny which is pretty much your worst case scenario.
some people might not care..and you might have used a ton, but i would go wild if i bought rims and they showed up with nothing but bubble wrap around them...there is a LOT that can happen to a rim being thrown around during shipping.. at the very least you should layer up a bunch of cardboard on the face and back of the rim (when shipping w/tires) and have the shipping company use those plastic packing straps to hold that in place.

Dude, I've shipped probably at least 10 sets of rims, and FedEx is the cheapest way to go....not to mention I used to work for UPS. UPS is more expensive bc they claim better customer service. Plus you don't have to fill out the shipping forms like at FedEx.
USPS is way more expensive and a heck of a lot slower.
