My dad's BMW is leased and it will not be bought off lease because its really not even close to being reliable as any of the Lexuses we've had.

The SC will definitely not be discontinued. Only the SC 300 was discontinued. It never made it to an SC 350. The SC 300 had the same inline 6 cylinder as the GS 300 and the GS 300 became the GS 350 but the SC 300 never made it to an SC 350. Most likely the SC 430 will become the SC 460. The SC 430 had the same engine as the GS 430 which became the GS 460 and many people thought that the V8 GS would be discontinued but it didn't, following the same pattern, the SC will get the same engine as the GS 460 and voia la the SC 460...

The SC has always ran long (too long most would say) and a new SC will come.
I totally agree with you Mike that the SC will definitely not be discontinued. The only two Lexus models to ever be discontinued were the SC 300, Lexus decided to drop it and bring in the GS 400, and the IS sportcross didn't make it to the second generation...but then again for the second generation IS we got the:

IS 220d (Europe)
IS 250
IS 350
IS F

Very soon we'll get the IS coupe/convertible. As one can see the IS line has grown to multiple variants. Maybe we'll also get a hybrid variant such as an IS 450h...all Lexus has to do is take the 3.5 liter engine/electric motor from the GS 450h and stuff it into the IS and vioa la the IS 450h...

Not too bad if you ask me. Yeah BMW has the X6 but it's also a reskin of an existing platform and low volume. Not that big of a deal IMO. 1 series will be a huge seller I'm sure and it could close the gap with Lexus on sales for BMW. New X3 is around the corner too.

Mercedes? GLK, new E class, and A/B class.

Everyone seems pretty well set in the next few years IMO.
Don't forget GS-F!

For the last 3 years I've been wondering when a new SC was going to come out. In fact if you asked me 3 years ago if the 2009 model year cars would be out and still no new SC I'd have said no chance. I'm shocked that they've kept that car around for so long!

Lexus needs to hire some of you guys More enthusiasm and vision than the decision makers at present!

I think the SC is too much a success story to be just thrown out.

Do not forget the rumors of the Lexus-fied Rav4. However, w/ the Infiniti EX's sales not looking so hot (4,010 units in 4 months) that may give Lexus some pause. On the other hand, it is hard to ignore the fact that other luxury brands are introducing products into this segment.

I guess we will find out. The IS convertible has been talked about for a long time and we will have to see if it really is going to make it out in the next two years. As for a mid cycle refresh of the IS, well, it's just that. With the recent product intro from Lexus, I expect the RX to be very evolutionary, similar to the GS. Don't know about the GX or its' market segment. As for the LF-A, well I guess Lexus has a good reason for keeping it really secret or the mags are just tired of running releases about it because it wasn't mentioned at all while such still distant events like the diesel R8 did make it. Not sure what the refresh is on the ES but refreshes are rarely very different from the current model. I guess we'll see in the monthly sales numbers how Lexus does. Interesting post in the sales numbers thread on Lexus following Acura.

Yup, "we will find out" indeed. Secrecy goes a long way---either there's nothing behind the curtain, or some little thing, or more...etc. Show me the money!!!

Based on my discussion with Lexus dealership personnel, and seeing the erroneous reports in past magazines, I do believe that the magazines get precious little (accurate) info about future Lexus plans, less than the European marques. Take that for what it's worth...I am hoping that the silence is not permanent. Moreover, I am hoping that Lexus is trying not to have a repeat of "the dark years" in the mid 1990's when they were lacking new product and lost the sales crown.
