Audi S5
Hey Guys
Just got back from the dealer, they are telling me that the wait for an Audi S5 is about 6-8 months!!!! wow that is just crazy, but I will have to say I have had spotted a few on the road and they look absolutely beautiful, I like the LED DRL in particular it is hard to miss them on the road even during the day. Just want to ask to see what do you guys think about that car, and I am still thinking of getting a M3 coupe because the wait on this car is just way too long.......
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Honestly can't go wrong with either. S5 is classier, much more luxurious and IMO looks more tasteful. Trunk room is huge. I checked one out at the Auto Show and loved it, seats were FANTASTIC.
I do hate that it has a glass roof, it does not open.
M3 is edgier, sportier, faster, more expensive. It has more image as well.

I'm not sure the S5 is right to compare to the M3... performance-wise the 335i is a much closer match for the S5... the M3 is just way too much for the S5 to handle.
With that said I'd probably be in an S5 right now instead of a 335i if it weren't for the fact that I got into a 335i lease for dramatiaclly less money.... BMW leases rates >>> Audi, especially on a car that you can't get much of a discount on right now like the S5.
The S5 has a way nicer interior and better looks, IMO.
If you really like the LED headlights, ALL Audi models will be moving to that look very soon. A4 for 2009... A3 for 2009 or 2010... etc.

I'm actually looking to get an S5 also. My dealer in Orange County told me it would be more like a three to four month wait to get the exact one I want though. Maybe Indiana doesn't get as large of an allocation. They don't even have the A5's in stock either. I love pretty much everything about the car EXCEPT for the fact that it doesn't offer a moon roof. I would be trading in my SC for the S5 so going from a convertible to a fixed roof is gonna be tough and is really the only thing holding me back right now. This would be my weekend toy in place of the SC and convertible just seems to make things so much more enjoyable so I don't know. It's a tough decision because the S5 looks so beautiful inside and out. I've never been so tempted on an Audi.
They do have a beautiful R8 in stock though.

Saw one of these in person last week at the gas station (believe it was an A5but not sure.) It was white with some nice wheels on it. The car was DEFINITELY an eye catcher and the exhaust note was very nice too.

I think the S5 is THE car to own right now. God it's beautiful. A 6-8 month wait does not sound right unless you are ordering something special. Then again I'm not in the loop so who knows.
I'd cut off my ear for one of those, and that would take a lot longer than 6-8 months to grow back, so think about that.

They are sweet rides. I briefly looked at this before making my decision. The A5/S5 car prices are so high with mark ups that it just doesn't make sense. The S5 is the only way to go with the speed we drive in our every day cars. So that means you will drop 80k on this car by the end of your purchase.
Performance wise the m3 with CF roof on Alpine white is sick! I love the looks of that car. They are both sweet rides.

as I said above -- there's now 25 S5's on Autotrader right now. Very highest price is $65K. most are $59K (this is about as loaded as you can get one).
wait for the RS5 if you want even more speed/HP.
