if my calculations are correct she would only save money if she could drive the more than 40880 miles.

$7300 / $5 (assuming gas this high)= 1460 * 28 (current mpg) = 40880

that would be about a year and a half for me. but honestly, with a geo metro, i don't know if i'd enjoy driving as much.

You have to wonder how many people don't take into account the opportunity cost of that initial extra monetary payout

$7200 for a geo metro is insane. What did these things cost brand new? 9 or 10k? I couldnt drive that thing if I wanted to. You would get ran over it has a 1.0 liter engine with 49hp. Can you merge onto the expressway with that lol? Thats lower hp then my first car a sohc AE86 corolla. You would better buying a used civic orr corolla for about 3k and saving the rest of the money.

It only weighs 1650 lbs.

I imagine it's not fast but it probably keeps up decently.

I have seen a few roaming around here, about the oldest cars I still see running.

That is terrifying. In their defense, it was 1993. However, the video with airbags shows just how valuable that they are.

$7,000 for a Geo Metro? Here's your sign.

I worked for a rental car place in the early 1990's and we had these Geo Metros in the fleet. Absolutely terrifying to drive at 70 mph. Just an absolutely awful car any way you slice it.

Ahh, but I left myself an out. I didn't say anything about the looks or prestige of it You know how I don't like those ultra small cars. That is my excuse.

i wish I knew that a few years ago.... i was given a free 97 geo metro with like 66k miles..... with some slight (not bad at all) front end damage.... i just drove it to the junk yard they gave me $30 bucks...
