Default DIY: Remove car dents

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/963248...ith_a_lighter/

this trick looks interesting and likely to work for minor dents that arent too deep
anyone have dents that want to give it a try?

I've got two small ones that would be ideal to test this on. I bet I can use a hairdryer instead of the lighter though. It will be a lot less likely to damage the paint and won't require the aluminum foil.

I've heard of doing this. Just never seen it done live.

Looks interesting but I don't think I have the courage to do that.

your really testing the limits of the paint like that heating then rapidly cooling id be afraid of the paint cracking and chipping off

There's an old UL about pulling dents out of a car with dry ice. First let the car sit in the hot sun for a few hours, then press a bar-of-soap sized piece of dry ice into the center of the dent and watch it pop out.

I'd be afraid of the dry ice at -109 degrees F might make the paint brittle and pop off a thumbnail size patch where it contacts the bodywork. I might first try sunshine and that air can . . .
