Car looks sweet, local dealer here sells those for mid 60's to 70's, you should try the heat trick with the compressed air for those small dings

Default Update

So here is an update...i skipped out on the black carrera NON S wanting to give it more time to look around...the 39k miles were just too much but the 47k price point was nice.

So, ran into a '05 Carrera S, with Nav, sports seats, sports package/chrono with 30k miles for 59k. The car is clean and in great shape. No signs of any wear and tear or the dreaded RMS issues. Almost new tires, clutch felt great, brakes performed well and no cosmetic issues.

So what do you guys think???? I would of course get it checked out by Porsche and the whole 9 yds.

I've driven a 997 S pretty hard, and they're great cars. I think the steering/shifting is better than in a 996tt, though at that price range I'd probably opt for the scary power of the 996tt.

The red one may be nicer but it is also alot more expensive and not really a good deal to me. By the time you pay taxes and title it is going to be well over 60K, don't let the price being in the 50's fool you as it is really priced just under 60K and is really going to be around mid 60's by the time everything is done. I don't think it being a S model and having 9K less miles is worth paying 12K or 13K(most likely more) over the previous one. At the end of the day your going to be paying over 60K for a USED car that is a couple years old that will be extremely expensive to maintain even if it is a Porsche 911. Are you financing the car or writing a check for 60 some thousand dollars? If you are just writing a check for 59K plus taxes/title then I would just get a brand new 997 and finance because it probrably makes more sense financially. Personally I would wait and try to find one in the 40's even if it means it having more miles.

Note also that the 997 is due for an update at the end of the summer '08 (as an '09 model). Base 997 will have the current 997S engine...
