a 62 year old lady drives a regular TL where I work....she ruined it for me.....it will always be an old lady's car

for a younger guy I'd go for the STI or GTI or EVO...new here for $32K

I agree that the TL may not suit a driver that is more inclined to a sporty car, but if you enjoy just crusing around then I would still recommend the TL-S or Lexus IS/GS.

I think the EVO/STI/GTI is for the kind of driver that is into aggressive driving. If that is the driver's preference then by all means get one of those. BUT if you enjoy long cruises with music playing and minimal road noise, get the TL-S or Lexus IS/GS.

Honestly I am biased towards cars that are Luxury first and Sport second as opposed to Sport first and Luxury second. The nicest luxury car I've ever driven was a 1998 Lexus SC 400. It was just a joy to get on the freeway with. Almost NO road noise. I could whisper to my passenger at 70 mph and he could hear every word.

The most extreme sport car I've driven was a 2003 Nissan 350Z. The first thing I noticed was the loud exhaust note. After that the ride was MUCH stiffer than what I am use to. Basically I did find that particular car appealing. And I'm a 20 year old male.

When it comes down to it, the questions that must be answered are: What does the driver appeal to?, What will the car be used for mainly?, and How important is peers' opinions to the driver?

to me or a most 2X year olds? (assuming his age)

I'm guessing the EVO would appeal waaaaaaaaaaaay more.
Just depends on what he wants -- luxury or sport????

Is that inside of an EVO? God, that looks terrible! I don't think I could deal with the inside of that car.

For 33k i would choose the following in this order...
1. G8
2. IS250/350...depending if he can go over budget a little
3. G35
4. Mazda Speed 3
5. TL/TL-S
6. STI
7. GTI

1. sti
2. g35
3. is250
4. TL

and I don't know after that.

But on the WRX STI, How much can he haggle the car down? Its MSRP is $34,995 I think... 33,000 out the door maybe?

Loaded and modified with JR stuff Mini Cooper S. You'd be able to buy it at MSRP + TTL + leftover money for aftermarket mods.
