The Maxima is suppose to have a 0-60 time of 6.2 and from reading the entire Nissan press release they built this car with the GT-R in mind, everything was done to make it a drivers car, even the CVT has 4 setting, 1 being a DS sport mode, the CVT seems to be all new for this car, I guess it's new technology like the SMG/DSG transmissions.
Nissan also said they wanted the Maxima to be the best handling and performing FWD, Front engine car in the world, eventually the magazines will let us know.

You see it too, lol. The first thing I thought when I saw the first rear shot posted on page 2 was Yaris sedan except that the Nissan's lights are more dramatic.
Can someone post up a side by side rear shot of the new Maxima and Yaris (silver). I can't seem to get both pics posted together.

Ok before anyone challenges me, I'm not dishing Nissan at all - I save that for Hyundai.
Here is the rear of both cars as requested.
Toyota Yaris Sedan

I am actually impressed. I have not liked the Max since 1997 and since then, I would not consider them, but this looks like a nice car. I like it better than the current Toyota Avalon, Lexus ES and the Infiniti G35.

Would you buy one over a G35? If so, that's bad news for Infiniti.

Front end grill I am truly getting, very GT-ish inspired. I really like this car thus far.

Car looks good in some of the profile shots, but still not impressed.
If Nissan wants to resurrect the 4DSC moniker, they need to make the car smaller and lighter.
That said, I still like the 3rd and 4th gen Maximas.
