Makes the Solara look more like what it exactly is: a bloated underpowered boat that needs a major redesign...
The Solara is a Camry coupe. Its not a sports car. Have you ever driven one? Its one of the most comfortable 2doors I've ever driven from how it drives to how it feels sitting in it for long periods of time. It has plenty of options, looks good, and (the 4cyl at least) gets great gas mileage. I think you SERIOUSLY misjudge this car for what it actually is. Its not a sports car nor does it pretend to be.
Than it'll probably spank the V8.
The Mustang has a V6, the Camaro and Firebird were sold with V6s. What's the big deal? That's like saying the IS250 and IS350 dilute the IS-F or the 335 and 328 dilute the M3.
Eh that last statement is sort of a stretch because the M3 and IS-F are far from similar to their siblings. You've got to take into consideration that the V8 version of the Challenger is pretty much and engine change and some different panels. You should be able to order all the options on the V6 model as you can with the V8; unlike the IS350 and the IS-F or the 335I and the M3.
I dont think it dilutes the car at all. Not all the challengers were 440 v8s... they offered a 3.7L V6 in the Challenger back in the 70s, so why not offer a similar V6 today??
