So lets say work is 30 miles from home, average speeds are 70+ mph (granted that doesnt matter if you dont want it to), and a few twists aside, its a pretty straight highway. Theres about 6 miles of interstate though.
I have never been on a motorcycle, or dirt bikes. I probably wouldnt start riding the bike to work until I felt comfortable on it, but from what everyone is saying, its pretty easy. I realize Im prolly gonna fall, and I know I have to always be thinking about the road.
Sorry to drag the story on, but do yall think a 250 would be ok for my needs? I know they arent that powerful and all, but I think just to get to and from work it would be ok?

I would say go with an used 500cc sportbike (around $3k) because its very forgiving when you learn on it and it has enough "juice" for you to travel at high speeds (over 70). Plus you WILL get sick and tired of a 250cc real fast, hence a learner bike.

^^ 70 mph redlining? if you read some review they are supposed to be driven around at high rpms. but its easily takin over 100 mph.. it runs high 14s in the 1/4 mile.. not fast at all.. but thats faster than more than half the cars on the road..
