I only like the dark shades of blue for most cars, not the light or smurfy ones ...

White is still tops....
I thought silver took over by a large margin over white years ago.

I see waaaaaaaay more silver cars on the road than white. Like 6 to 1.

Some colors are more expensive than others because of the pigments needed to produce the right color – mostly in the red and silver ranges
Except for Pearl paint jobs, which sometimes do cost a little more to do at the factory, that is mostly nonsense. There is little, if any difference, in the cost of doing one paint color or texture over another. Many European manufacturers, for example, charge extra for metallics, but it is simply driven by image, profit, and the fact that customers are willing to pay it.....their metallics don't cost any more to do than the straight colors. The fact that most Japanese, Korean and American firms don't charge extra for certain colors (except for a few at Chrysler) proves that.
