Default Can anyone say Porsche?

Now that summer is here, good weather has come to Buffalo New york, finally, and what better way to celebrate then....... a porsche. Last year, my dad had looked at 944, but said, i really don't want something that old. Then this year, we went out to look for a boxster, now many of you guys would say a boxster is for someone who can't a fford a 911, but those little convertable are a hell of a lot of fun. We found one which was black on black. A 2003 with 20k for about 27 grand, my dad almost pulled the trigger until he saw this http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ice=&cardist=6 What do you guys think, he went back on his word on old cars, but i mean come on look at the thing. I said yes, my mom says no, my dad says, well he doesn't really know. Any input would be nice. We called the guy who was selling and said all major services were done and it is ready to be driven anywhere. We saw the car in person and it is hella clean. Son what do you think .

When I read the thread title I thought it was going to be a debate between people who say "Porsh" and people who say "Porsh-uh"

OMG I would give my IS250 for that in a heart beat... and a Targa too *drool*

But arent those the 911 that carries the metal coffins reputation? Or are those the 70's 911.

^^^ personally, i think any porsche can be considered a metal coffin lol. There was a 1965 912 we also looked at, but there were some rust issues and i along with my dad, were notwilling to deal with issues like that. Honestly, as much as people may disagree, when you look for a porsche, something in your body says any porsche is a good porsche. Do we got any other porsche owners here, we used to have a 924 ( not a good car) and a few 944's

^^^ him, or me ? i get my permit in about 9 months. haha but we still got to see if we can lower down the price if we do buy it, i really want to, but like most other fillipinos s/p? well at least the ones i know, he is very careful with his money. Ugh why won't he just buy the damn thing already, since tommorow is father's day, we most likely won't talk about it, but on monday, ill give the updates if anything falls through or not

The answer is right in the ad he says he is selling the Targa to buy a newer Porsche. The only car funner than a Boxster is a Boxster S.

Uber they were air cooled for years after that one.

jmd93 - pre '87 (I think) didn't have a hydraulic clutch so you'll need a leg like a linebacker to change gears in that one. So I definitely recommend giving it a test drive first!

Oh wait, now I see it's an automatic... boo hiss... FTL ... pass!

I think he should pass and get something newer. How handy with tools is your dad? And what is his knowledge of Porsche's maintenance, etc.?

well he has no knowledge of porsche maintnence, all he knows is that they like to be in the shop, and are expensive, but hes ok with that good friend is a porsche mechanic with his own shop. and the other car we were looking at was a boxster s, but he thought a classic porsche would be sick, the automatic did sort of turn him away, but he doesn't know yet. If we dont get this one, well you will either see a boxster s, or older 911 in the garage, hopefully :/
