I like the Celica most but I'm a little bias, it was my first car.
That review is spot on for the car though, excellent handling for a FWD platform but it begs for more power. It's why I've always wanted to get an All-Trac. More power and AWD. The interior lay-out is pretty great.

It's cool to read these reviews but WOW were cars expensive back then!
Adjusted for inflation do you guys realize how good we have it? That Celica GT-S cost $38,000 in today's dollars! Can you imagine paying that much for that car today? That'd be terrible!
Today you can get something that performs as well or better for half the price with more features included (most of them standard) and much better safety and comfort.

What a cool flashback to the past. I was always a DSM nut and wanted one ever since they arrived back in 1990 when I was 15 and getting ready to drive. It wasn't until 1994 that I could finally afford a used 90 Eagle TSI AWD and it was my start to my obsession with modding cars. The sickness never goes away.
PS...That Isuzu sure was one ugly ride!

Celica 0-60 is 9.1 seconds?
Talon AWD was a BLAST to drive. GREAT handling and performance. Gotta love AWD in a small car.

I almost got a Celica convertible...ended up with a BMW conv. instead. However, the Corrado is one that I remember for it's design. Still looks better than the VW Golfs of the 90s that came after it.

I loved the Prelude back then. The gauge cluster was unique compared to other Hondas of the time. The dashboard would light up like a christmas tree... an electroluminescent effect imo. That 4 banger would idle like a 6 as well unlike the Accord 4 banger of the time. Amazing machine!

that doesnt really seem like a fair comparo.
FF vs FR vs AWD.
and AWD turbo to boot. of couse the Talon will win. i think it would have been more fair to compare the Eagle Talon equivalent of the Mitsu Eclipse GS (FF non-turbo).
but i would take the 240/s13.
