whic one will you prefer to have

I like the 2GS300.

It has a bit more class and refinement, and insurance won't be as high as the IS300. It can be tastefully modded to your liking; most used 1IS have been ridden and/or modded heavily...

Tough choice.... You know, used GS400/430s are usually priced right around the same as GS300s, and they are much more powerful.

depends on your style/ purpose for it.
the IS is smaller and sportier
the GS is more "lux" if you will

i chose the IS. but thats where i was back in 2000.

I had GS3/4 and 2 IS300, I would choose GS anyday.

I've had both, they are different animals. IS 300 is more sporty, GS 300 is a blend of sport and luxury.

If your not going to track your car and your a casual driver, the GS 300 is a better fit.
