Actually no, its quite comfortable but please keep in mind that this different for everyone. I guess the best way to determine how it is for you is to take one for a test drive.

yes my '06 did come with probax seats. if your looking for these seats, lots of owners tend to sell their OEM probax in the classifieds on lotustalk.com

Of course I would choose the Lotus over the S2k in a heart beat.

I think it totally depends on what your looking for in the car. The s2k is a great car and for more street/daily driver use, cruising city streets, nights out around town or weekend getaways with your lady friend and some small weekend bags the s2k is a way better choice. It also has a great powerplant and handles very well. I got nothing but admiration for the s2000 but I wanted a more raw sportscar.

I'm bias too, I hate convertibles. In fact I'd prefer a hardtop Elise as well. I think they make an Exige with one.

I've been in and drove Z4, Lotus Exige S and S2k. I'd prefer to drive and ride in the lotus over the S2k and Z4. The BMW Z4 is more comfortable than the other 2, i was in a S2K for 32 hours straight from Vegas to Michigan had back pains for days.

it depends how much and how hard you drive. Its very light if your not tracking the car. Costs really depends on your dealer.
One thing that helps tremendously is that its a Toyota Engine (2ZZGE) and the matching 6 speed manual trans. This helps with oil changes and trans maintenance. I do my own oil changes and trans oil changes.
The Elises lightweight is pretty easy on tires(more on this in a sec) and brakes. Brakes has been known to last for a very long time with these cars even when tracked. People can run the same brake pads for many events before they have to be swapped out.
I should say though that the high performance Yokohama A048s have been known to wear very quickly even with the lightweight Elise. I currently have these on my Elise and the grip is unreal, but it also real soft rubber so its going to wear fast no matter what. The more street orientated Yokohama AD07s lasts a lot longer.

I think my friend's in car video (drives a normally aspirated Elise) will help describe much better than any words. :

haha i was about to say, is the supercharger worth it? im left believing probably the best way to go is just base elise with touring and sport pack with hardtop. im not even sure the LSD is necessary or traction control.
