One thing that helps tremendously is that its a Toyota Engine (2ZZGE) and the matching 6 speed manual trans. This helps with oil changes and trans maintenance. I do my own oil changes and trans oil changes.
The Elises lightweight is pretty easy on tires(more on this in a sec) and brakes. Brakes has been known to last for a very long time with these cars even when tracked. People can run the same brake pads for many events before they have to be swapped out.
I should say though that the high performance Yokohama A048s have been known to wear very quickly even with the lightweight Elise. I currently have these on my Elise and the grip is unreal, but it also real soft rubber so its going to wear fast no matter what. The more street orientated Yokohama AD07s lasts a lot longer.
Hmm sounds like you are basiclly running a vacuum and we would not be tracking the car, and if we did, very little, it would be a garage queer . And since we don't have a lotus dealer any where near here, we would just bring it to the lexus dealership for oil changes ect. because they service other models besides lexus. Saw a ferrari and rolls in there one time, they were very shinny

An oil changes is a very easy to do @ home task if your a do-it-yourselfer:
jack up the rear, slide ramps under it (or just drive it back unto ramps, either way):

Loosen 8mm bolts (there is a bunch of them and they are fairly lengthy bolts so I use an electric screwdriver with an 8mm socket to make it quick work) and put aside the engine service panel:

the drain plug and oil filter can now be easily accessed underneath.

ok, time to switch gears (nice segue eh?)....

on the handling front:
The Elise uses fully independant wishbone suspension all-around.
