The Lotus Elise, pics, details and discussions
I like to use this thread to talk about the Elise. Its been misunderstood by many so as an owner I like to clear the air about this car.
So to start with here are pics I took of my car in the fall of 2006:
The Elise, as imported to the USA is fitted with the Toyota 2ZZGE and 6 speed manual trans from the Celica GTS. This particular Elise is fitted with the Lotus Sport Suspension which means it has Bilstein shocks, Yokohama A048 tires and forged rims.

and here's a pic of a friend's Exige S being put through its paces at Autobahn Country Club:
Notice the right front wheel 'lifting' a bit? He is pushing the Exige S to its adhesion limits on this corner.
These cars - the Elise and Exige are the same cars under the skin with subtle differences with the bodywork. Each one has its advantages.

Thanks 97-SC300. Hey your near me! Round Lake, IL? We are practically neighbors. I too am up in Lake County, IL.
That was my first driving season with the car. I took those pics knowing I would be garaging it soon for the winter.
So, heres a pic not seen to frequently - the first ever Elise frame still under development:

Another aftermarket company (Sector111.com) has a supercharger kit.
I'm glad now I kept it normally aspirated. There has been a rash of reports about rough idling, hard starting and such from prolonged use of these kits.
If your not doing anything this Thursday night I plan to head out to Chicago Indoor Racing for some kart racing. Let me know!
