Default Euro Test: GTR vs. 430 Scuderia vs. LP560-4 vs. 997 GT2

Linked from another forum.

A nice comparison in the upcoming issue of Italian magazine Quattroruote, to be released by the end of the month. The test driver is Alain Prost (Four time F1 champion).

Vairano track :

Ferrari 430 Scuderia

Lap time 1.15,375min
0-100km/h: 3.76s
0-200km/h:11.64s
1458kg with driver

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4

Lap time 1.15,714min
0-100km/h: 3.65s
0-200km/h:11.09s
1590kg with driver

Porsche 997 GT2

Lap time 1.15,528s
0-100km/h: 3.87s
0-200km/h:12.04s
1550kg with driver

Nissan GT-R

Lap time 1.17,600s
0-100km/h: 3.87s
0-200km/h:13.15s
1800kg with driver

GT-R is JDM car with latest suspension specs.

Prost was allegedly not satisfied with the GT-R handling and couldnt believe this car can lap the Ring in 7:29.

Ferrari had the best lap time.

Lambo fastest in a straight line.

Porsche best of all arounder.

The Scuderia is unbelievable and its one of the few cars I truly wish I could drive and drive at the limit. I was just re-reading on it yesterday. Ferrari and Bosch made a marriage of E-diff and Traction control where they make AWD seemingly unnecessary to come out of a corner with full grip and traction with no loss of speed without the penalty of weight.

The Scuderia is as fast at Fiorano as an Enzo. That is just ridiculous. Many reviwers state they have never had so much grip out of a corner in a RWD car. I feel so strongly about this new tech I was going to start a thread on it to help educate us some more.

Amazingly the AWD Gallardo is right behind it, and the RWD GT2 is as well. The GT-R is a sold 2 seconds behind which is an eternity here.

Seems with the GT-R, the initial reviews had it whooping everything and now it seems very beatable. I am not taking anything away from this fantastic car at all, again this is at the limit with professional drivers.

Not a fan of the GTR but as it is compared to such esteemed and established marques often this does say loads about it's capabilities. Nice job Nissan.

Exactly! The GT-R has leapfrogged so much of it's true competition that it's now being compared to the best of the best...some cars costing two or three times as much.

There is no doubt that the GT-R is the best bang for your buck sports car available now.

No doubt. To think that car is 1/3 the price if not 1/4th the price of some of those cars.

I read the full review in Autobild or AutomotorundSport (dont remember exactly)...

Most of the issues comes from the weight of GTR.

And I never saw the price of vehicles mentioned.

Just something to remember when next time you see Lexus crushed in European review - it will happen, every time, because Europeans are highly protective of their own cars.

The other thing to keep in mind is that the guy who drove these cars
KNOWS how to drive an RWD car really fast I've always thought he
was an incredible jackass, but he was/is one of the greatest drivers of all
time.

With a highly-skilled driver, the GT-R will be at a relative disadvantage because of all the technology and design that buffers the driver from the road. Keep in mind, for example, that reviewers of the GT-R complained that it artificially generates understeer during cornering - allegedly for safety reasons, according to Nissan engineers. I mean, even Autoweek said the Lexus, of all vehicles, had better driver-road interaction in their comparo of the IS-F and GT-R.
