The twin turbo motors are already more fuel efficient than their NA predecessors. Perhaps BMW will incorporate some form of cylinder deactivation system if policies become more stringent? I can see future V10 M5's running on 5 cylinders during idle and highway cruising

I understand the need for more fuel efficent cars, But I don't see the need to eliminate cars that are "weekend toys" to meet CAFE standards. They say the Dodge Viper is 100% going to be gone because of CAFE and that is a shame. basically all of them are weekend toys and personally they are to raw for me, but I am happy when I see one go down the road. I personally think that cars that are produced in limted numbers should be exempt from CAFE and that solves the problem.
