Bugatti considering a new model other than Veyron
Posted: July 3rd, 2008
After Bugatti is done building the 300 planned units of the Veyron, it’ll only be so long that they can keep offering special edition versions, like the Veyron Sang Noir, before it gets lame. Not to mention Veyron owners don’t want to lose the exclusivity that comes with owning the $1.2 million car. According to Bugatti CEO, Franz-Josef Paefgen, Bugatti is considering a new model to join the Veyron.
“The next three years we think about new members to join the Veyron-family,” said Paefgen. “It won’t be until 2011 or 2012 that there will be a completely new model. That newcomer must fit into the Bugatti history, butalso to the Veyron. A totally different direction is not an option.”
So far Bugatti has confirmed that it is indeed working on a targa-top version of the Veyron, of which production will be limited to only 80 units.
Previously, senior sources at Bugatti confirmed the Project Lydia, a track-only Bugatti that was being considered for production, was killed of last year. The sources said that Bugatti is instead considering a four-door-coupe version of the 1001 horsepower supercar with the W16 mounted up front.

In all honesty, I dont see Porsche making that many (smart) lineup changes like many once thought, especially with rumors of them wanting to build a Porsche Golf.

Honestly if I was like a billionaire or something, I would totally ask Bugatti to build "Project Lydia".
I wonder how much Bugatti would want? $5-10 million for sure.

I think they already had Lydia prototypes made
Tiff of 5th Gear did a Bugatti factory tour last season or so and they had to refrain from showing this prototype car which im guessing was Lydia
