Awesome video. The ZR-1 starts pulling on the faster sections of the track and the GT-R pulls back in on the slower and transition sections.

Great find! I love how the ZR-1 driver puts his hand up in the air when he slides the rear for a good 1/3 second knowing he lost valuable time.

both cars were driven to the limits
i think the ZR-1 couldve been driven a bit tidier and faster though
but that requires a lot of skill as it seems to be really tail happy to me

one thing that can have a difference on the video timing is the frame rates of them being recorded and frame rates of them being played
maybe conversion process couldve slightly altered the frame rate too

Unless both cars were driven by the same driver, the times are meaningless.

you can fast forward any video, and make it look faster.

what they need is an official timer mounted on the track

I'm pretty surprised at how jerky/twitchy the GTR's driver was with the steering wheel.

Spot on with what I was thinking while watching. This is particularly true with web-codecs that place compression at a higher premium than accuracy. 0.5% either way makes a world of a difference between these two beasts.

I'd like to see a race - one on one.

i see two possible reasons for this

1.
car's stability control and traction control have all been turned completely off
and the car is one twitchy fat b@stard when its brains are taken away

2.
im guessing the GTR's driver doesnt know the track that well
thats why hes giving it a lot input to correct the "mistakes" he made
after all, the less input, the faster you go
but he just wasnt on the perfect driving line all the time

Stig needs to have a go in both these cars on the TG track
and Sabine Schmit needs to have a go in both these cars on the nurburgring under the same weather conditions and same tires...

Maybe its just me but I know i couldn't break 8 minutes in either car so I'm not going to bish about one car being 1 sec or 2 secs faster.

Both are beasts

ZR1 is fast as hell. though whatever time it gained, it did it on the straight ways.

ZR1 is lighter and more powerful, and its probably more fun to drive as well. Burns outs FTW
