I saw this awhile ago. This should be interesting for others on this board not familiar with Dinan to watch. I was surprised by the 1/4 mile race. They don't mention which tuning setup Dinan uses. They have 3 stages now and are working up another one down the road. The M3 still looks sweet with the CF roof and wheels.

So what's the fastest 1/4 mile time for a tuned 335i nowadays?

yea, there is a juicebox that has that record but the secondary mods are what helps the car out I am sure. I saw some car putting close to 400 down to the wheel with Downpipes, Cold air intake, chip, full exhaust system and a few other things.

A low 12 second 1/4 mile is not far off with a tuned 335i with nice tires and a software tune. DP's help out quite a bit as well but I think I will hold off on those.

Terry Burger got the fastest time as f=ma mentioned, but mid/high 12s can be done with just a piggyback.

Thanks for the vid Sean. Honestly, I would probably pick the same. The 335i really is a gem.

yeah 400 is really not that difficult. You can also get Diverter Valves, and after market intercooler, blow off valve, and LSD. All in all the 335 is a very very modifyable car. Almost too modifyable for a luxury car.

+1, thanks for posting.

I'd have to get the M3 wheels and slap them on the 335i tho

anyone know where to get a deal on OEM or good repro's?

Ya might want to avoid that particular mod, as more than once have they been responsible for repair bills exceeding $20k. If you're willing to take the risk of ponying up that much for a repair, might as well spend half that up front and just get the M3.

i'll take the car that has more freude am fahren. I've never been in a Dinan 335i so I can't say much and I hate to be a magazine racer but seems like the Dinan's more about the raw power whereas the M3 is more about the refinement.

...wait, did that guy just say the true test to evaluate a sports car is at the race track (1/4 mile)? are you kidding me? lmao.

the badge isn't worth the extra dough? it's not the badge but the refinements!!
