2009 Corvette ZR1s 7:26.4 @ Nurburgring
We've been eagerly waiting for this since we first heard the news of the stunning 7:26.4 Nurburgring lap time set by the 2009 Corvette ZR1. Now, we've finally got the footage of the Godzilla-killer in action, ripping up the Nordschleife. But will this silence the skeptics? Either way, the Nissan GT-R had better have something fast in store with the 2010 Nissan GT-R Spec V. But enough talk, let's sit back and enjoy the show. Video below the jump.

I watched it from beginning to end. I noticed several things.
1. 7.26 is amazing, however, it was far from a perfect run. He lost valuable time on several occasions.
2. Electronic nannies galore!
3. Noisy tires
4. Top peed of only 178?

2. It has very few in comparison with the GTR

4. I don't think its physically possible for the ZR1, or any car of that performance, to reach their top speed in the Nurburgring.

3. Many cars I see on the ring don't have tires this noisy. Most 30/35/40 series tires scrub, not squeal.
4. I thought so, too, but then I watched the vid again and he clearly had the HP and distance to take it much faster. He hit 178 and just stayed there, like the car hit a limiter or something.
