sell my Insight for $14K and get a used Civic Hybrid or??

Yeah sounds like you could make some money here. If it wasn't for sale, I'd keep the Insight though.

I would say sell the Insight and get a Honda Fit.

i would sell the insight in a heartbeat.... i honestly dont see that car being worth 14k. and there is much more utility in owning a civic hybrid (carries more passengers/more cargo space/ etc.) especially if you dont need the crazy gas mileage THAT much.
