Default Free Cobalt With Purchase Of SUV.

Free Cobalt with purchase of SUV.

That's one way of moving a gas guzzler I guess.

I couldn't download the video, so I can't comment on it directly, but perhaps a more effective promotion would be a free SUV with a Cobalt purchase. Hey, that way, if you didn't need the SUV, or didn't want it, you could donate it and take it off your taxes.

In fact, I sometimes wonder why more dealerships themselves don't actually do that. There are plenty of charities, like AmVets, Purple Heart, Red Cross, Goodwill, etc...that pick up and deliver things. (I used to do charity work for one of them myself). They often are working with old, worn-out trucks/SUVs and need new ones to replace them. Dealerships could donate new trucks and SUV's that they have trouble selling....that's a tax write-off for them, too. But few actually do.

WTF? Why not just take $10,000 off the price of the truck? Unless you flip the Cobalt, I don't see how owning and insuring an additional car is all that helpful.

Link not working for video. I have to say I'm not suprised to hear that the auto makers are getting desperate to get these useless metal tanks off the lots.

Link works for me, just checked it. But you can go to WFTV.com

You aren't missing much though, it is as basic as you get the Cobalt if you buy an SUV and from video shows what looks like extended cab truck purchase nets you one too. The catch is, if I remember right, they only have 37 deals to make after that no more.

Not sure if it is rigid MSRP but from the look of the guy selling them and his comments I don't think he would refuse to deal off MSRP.

I couldn't download the video. How do they define "SUV" for purposes of this promotion? "SUV", in the Chevy line, could mean anything from a small HHR or Equinox all the way up to a 6500-lb. Suburban. Chevy, Ford, and Toyota have a wider line of "SUVs" than any other manufacturers.

Here is a link to printed story, not sure how much clearer it will make on what vehicles.
