what they need is the 5 door hatch they sell in japan (and maybe europe).
I drove the 130i M-Sport and been in a 123 turbo diesel (which was a sweet engine that gets awesome mpg) but both were nice with lots of luggage room. The 2 door convertible never made sense to me...might as well bring over the 5 door so people can use it for family purpose.

BMW pricing has always been ridiculous. You want a color other than red, black, or white? $550 please. You want leather instead of "leatherette"? $1,450 please. Auto tranny? That will be $1,350. How much for "reliability"?
They may be fun to drive (never driven one, so I don't know) but the interiors haven't really changed in 20 years, they break down all the time, and cost and arm and a leg.
But you do get "free" maintenance.

The 135 is a wonderful vehicle for those who want an enthusiast rocket in a smaller package.. Those sick 6 pot brakes are unique to the 135. I would love to have them.. Take a look at these vids

BMW's no doubt, are wonderful vehicles for steering feel and chassis dynamics (IMO the best in both areas), but, other than that, even with the free maintenance (BMW service costs an arm and a leg when you have to pay for it), I see little reason to buy or lease one, although they do sometimes have good lease deals because of the low depreciation rate and high residual values. But, in many cases, you have to put up with arrogant dealerships, poor assembly quality, overly complex dash and I-Drive controls, and unreliable electronics. And, if you buy, rather than lease, I think many BMWs are overpriced, especially the thread topic.........the 1-series.

It just depends on if you bought your car to have a nice 'feel' to it or if you bought it to drive the **** out of it.
I for one have an appreciation for both priorities... to me it comes down to whether I'm leasing or buying. Leasing, absolutely give me the BMW... much more fun to drive. If I'm buying I feel better about having the Lexus in my name than the BMW.

we are taking into consideration everything, specially the prices and what you get for the money. you are only talking about acceleration.
Its almost like saying, the Ferrari F430 Scuderia is the best car in the world. Well it is prally one of the best performance cars ever made, but for the price It sucks. HEHE
Im surprissed the 335i and 135i are compared so much to the IS350 because of the difference in prices. I mean a fully loaded IS is the same price as almost a very basci BMW

Of course they would just for the wow it's a porshce factor but a porsche without turbo is pointless in my opinion.

The 135 grew on me like that ugly chick in college with the badass body.. still ugly but I'd hit it....
Its cramped, overpriced, ugainly and the baby BMW. On the other hand its a true sleeper, it has a decent trunk, nice brakes and the same rocket of an engine.
I like this car for all the wrong reasons.....We have to give kudos to BMW for offering not one but TWO coupes under 40k while Lexus hasn't one, EVER.
Its cramped, overpriced, ugainly and the baby BMW. On the other hand its a true sleeper, it has a decent trunk, nice brakes and the same rocket of an engine.

ORLY? A stock Boxster/Caymen offers the driving dynamics a BMW can only dream about, let alone a Lexus. A GT3 or GT3 RS is as intimate and perfect a drivers car you can get.
Hell, how about a nice 914? Let alone just a classic 911 or new 911, 911 S or C4s?
