Doing 60 mph on the highway mixed with city driving yields this for me on average.. 335 20 mpg, the X3 averages 14.7 & the GS has no mpg digital readout but it does great on gas

I read this thread last night just before I drove from Orange County to LA (about 40 miles) in my SC400. Just for kicks I reset my MPG gauge and drove no faster than 60 mph on the freeways. Usually I'd go around 75.

Mostly freeway driving, but I hit some traffic and also a detour that forced me onto local roads for about 4 miles. Still averaged over 29 MPG this trip.

I did the math and this saved me about half a gallon, so maybe around $2.30 or so. It would have taken about 13 minutes longer if I had gone 60/75 the whole way, but the actual difference is around 7 or 8 minutes because you can only use that extra speed on the freeway.

Whether it's worth it or not, up to you. My time isn't all that valuable on Sunday nights, when I'm spending way more than I'm making.

I got close to 24mpg and 400 miles a tank with my 2JZ-GE in my SC. With the 1JZ I think I'm getting closer to 20, but its a lot more fun to drive.

I average around 23-34 miles per gallon all in the city. And if anyone knows Southern California's traffic situation it's always stop and go. And this is still with me gunning it a couple of times because I love hearing the sound of my air intake.
