Default anyone inquired about the $7999 Kia Rio?

I see ads for these things all the time.

guessing -

no a/c
roll up windows

anyone?

Just curious...its on my list of cars I'm considering as a daily beater (5yr 60000 mile base + 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty).

Have I inquired about it? No. At that price (what did it actually cost Kia to build it, $1200?), it had better come with a 10 year warranty.

It's cheaper and safer than a motorcycle (we don't have A/C or power windows either), and will be easier and cheaper to maintain.

If you can get rid of the "I'm driving a soap box" mentality, I think it will functionally be o.k.

I wonder how cheap it is used?

as PhilipMSPT said, whatever its crash rating is....its safer than any motorcycle.....can't be any worse than the 95% aluminum Honda Insight I have now.

They stand out to me since I didn't see them in Mexico, but everwhere I go around town I see them.

We have a similar offer (but worse... we always get shafted) in Canada.

Hyundai Accent
$9999 cash price
no a/c
rolly windows
no abs

Its a VERY basic car. However, for a winter beater, or someone who just needs an appliance to get from A to B, its perfect!

Crash test ratings aren't as good as the Fit or Yaris, but when you are that small in size its hard to differentiate.
